Music

My love of music and song started at a very early age. In fact, my mother says that she would know that I was awake from my nap as a baby when she heard me singing in my crib.

In junior high school I started studying classical voice and continued through for ten years until the end of university.

In my travels, I have had the chance to use my love of music to make connections with all kinds of people. After high school, I apprenticed to a drumming group in Cincinnati, learning and performing Brazilian drumming. When I lived in Ecuador, I worked with a group of clowns, in Japan I performed with my local taiko drumming group for two years and now, in Turkey, I sing with a Turkish polyphonic choir.

I have great faith that music and movement can speak where words often fail.
